In recent years several groups have worked to develop stem cell therapy as a cure for erectile dysfunction, but until now the improvements have not been sufficient to allow affected men to achieve full sexual intercourse.
New clinical trial results are showing that stem cells can potentially restore erectile function and allow men to have spontaneous intercourse once again.
This is the first time stem cell therapy has produced patients who have recovered sufficient erectile function to enable intercourse.
Denmark Study in Stem Cell Treatment for ED
According to the 2017 study conducted in Denmark, within 6 months of the treatment, 8 out of the 21 patients reported that they had recovered sufficient erectile function.
This improvement has been maintained for a year, which is encouraging in showing that the treatment may confer long-term benefits.
Dr. Martha Haahr, the lead researcher for the study explains. “We are the first to use a man’s own fat stem cells as a treatment for erectile dysfunction in a clinical trial. This is the first time stem cell therapy has allowed patients to recover sufficient erectile function to enable intercourse.”
How Science is Helping Men to Overcome ED
Data from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases shows that around 12 percent of men under the age of 60, and 22 percent of men aged between 60 and 69, have Erectile Dysfunction.
The main causes that are linked to erectile issues include high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, and prostate surgery. As well as this, psychological issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, and low self-esteem can also contribute to ED.
Typically, oral medications are the first type of treatment that many men seek for ED. They are accessible through a doctor’s visit and prescription. The most commonly known treatment for the condition of ED are Sildenafil (Viagra), Vardenafil (Levitra), and Tadalafil (Cialis).
Other common current treatments for ED include penile implants, and injections. While these have proven effective, they require surgery, have side effects, and some require repeated treatment.
Using Shockwave Therapy for Erectile Dysfunction
Another treatment option which has recently gained popularity is GAINSWave.
Because over 80% of Erectile Dysfunction issues are caused by poor blood flow, GAINSWave has developed a protocol to treat this issue and reduce the problems of Erectile Dysfunction.
Utilizing a high frequency, low-intensity sound waves to improve blood flow to the penis, it removes micro-plaque, and stimulate the growth of new blood vessels.
GAINSWave is based on a series of over 30 clinical studies showing a greater than 75% success rate in treating Erectile Dysfunction (ED).
If you are interested in potential solutions for overcoming erectile issues, then GAINSwave may be for you.
